I has been a long time since I updated this blog, so I thought it was about time.
I have added a few more Gimp tutorials to the Gimp page and added a page for Krita tutorials.
Also I have continued to focus on leaning how to draw the human figure.
I have made a lot of progress since my last post on this blog. I had to take a step back from what I was doing and just try to get down the basics.
what are the basics ?
In my opinion they are gesture and proportion.
So i have been doing a lot of gesture drawing and I mean a bunch. After I draw gestures a while I like to go and spend a while studying proportions then I go and study anatomy. I continue to repeat this process as often as possible.
Now while drawing gesture I try to get the proportions right, but not so much that it takes away from the gesture.
Some times this process seems like a grind, so from time to time I like to try draw a figure and add some shading and anatomy. Doing it that way helps me to evaluate where my weakness is.
Here are few images from the studies I have done in the last few months.
Some of the images are gesture and some are just scribbles.
