Here is an other Hulk like proportion sketch

I got out of bed early this morning and started sketching. First thing I wanted to do was sketch figure with hulk proportions again. I feel like this rough sketch was better than the one I did yesterday.
I am pretty much only using Manga Studio 5 anymore, as matter of fact i uninstalled FireAlpaca today. I only have 4 illustration apps on my computer now. Krita, Gimp, Manga Studio 5 and Manga Studio 4 ex. I bought MS4 ex near the end of 2013 and loved it. I liked MS4 so much I thought I would try out 5. Now I am hooked MS5 is great. I am thinking by the end of the week I will only have Gimp and Manga Studio 5 install, I just do not see myself spending much more time using krita or MS4.
Ok so I have rambled enough here is this mornings rough sketch.

Sketch from todays practice session- Hulk like proportions and wrapping lines

Sometimes it seems the learning process is slow and frustrating, just wish I could pick up my stylus open Manga studio and just whip out a master piece. Oh well practice and more practice, a little progress every day.
Todays study was to capture hulk like proportions, gesture and use some wrapping lines to start getting the form to read.

Quick sketch -interesting pose

Today I did a few quick gesture sketches. The focus was not on anatomy but rather creating an interesting gesture. I think this one is the most interesting one today.

First sketch in Manga studio 5

I have been using Manga Studio 5 a few days now and so far it is great.

Sketch and paint Female form

Here is an image from my second practice session today.
This took about 45 minutes.
The goal was to sketch out the female form and gesture using boxes and cylinders and then create a new layer add some details and then paint.
I was not going for perfection in this painting, but trying to get the form to read well.
As I learn more I am sure these sketches and paintings will get better. Right now I can't say I am anywhere near the level I want to be.
I think it is a good idea for anyone to keep their sketches to review them often to see if progress is being made.

Drawing the Female form

Here is a sketch from today's practice session.
I tried to capture a basic gesture and give the impression of the female form in 3d space.

Figure Drawing-Bending boxes tutorial

As I continue to study figure drawing, I am trying to experiment with different ways to visualize the human form in 3d space. From time to time I have tried to build the form by using boxes. In other words break the form down into basic shapes using boxes, cylinders and spheres. Doing it this way requires the ability to rotate and bend these shapes in 3d space and give the impression of perspective. After drawing these basic forms in perspective they need to be connected.
I also like to draw ellipses onto the shapes to further give the impression of depth and volume.
When I have completed these steps this will be used as an under drawing. Since I am drawing using digital media, a layer will be added on top of the initial drawing and the opacity of the base layer will be lowered.
I hope all of that makes sense.
You should be aware that I am just learning how to do all of this and everyone has a different way of drawing the human figure. So I am taking things that I have learned from others and adapting them in such a way that works for me.
So here are a couple of sketches as an example of what I am talking about. You should be able to see the basic form in these sketches. Also remember these sketches are not finished drawings, but are just a step in the process of the way I am learning.
